Custom plastic rotational molding

Plastics are an important part of our lives. They play a role in many of the objects that we use on a daily basis. Without the ability of molding plastic and recycling plastic products into new items, we would not have many of the items we require every day. Plastics are used a variety of items, including disposable silverware, beverage and food packaging, laundry baskets, plastic lockers and even to create toys and other household items. A lot of thought and work goes into the molding of each of these items. They must be designed and then produced into the product as we know it today.

There are different methods used when it comes to molding plastic material into products. Rotational Molding is an extremely specialized and unique process. Heat is used to melt and fuse plastic resin in a closed mold. Unlike most other plastic molding processes, no pressure is involved. The four stage process includes loading the resin into the mold, heating and fusing the resin, cooling and finally unloading the part from the mold. This is just one of the many examples of how plastic is molded into the products that we use on a daily basis. Plastic lockers may be formed in this exact way, heating, melting and then molding the plastic lockers parts.

Plastics play a large role in the cleaning industry. Many of the cleaning products and cleaning utensils that we use are made out of plastic because of their ease of cleaning and affordable costs. As of May 2013, there were approximately 3.2 million people working in the cleaning services industry in the United States. Janitors and cleaners (not including maids and housekeeping cleaners) made up the largest portion of employees in this industry. With plastic being a large part of their jobs, the plastic molding company is huge. They may need items such as a bulk container, to hold their cleaning supplies and utensils, a laundry cart or linen carts to transport linens from room to cleaning area and even custom recycling bins to help dispose of products so that they can be recycled properly. Housekeeping and cleaning staff may also need plastic lockers, giving them a place to store their personal belongings securely.

With the popular usage and demand of plastics, plastic companies are highly successful and must work consistently to keep up with plastics demands. In fact, most commercial textile service plants run 5 to 6 days a week, some 7, or on multiple shifts. On a daily basis per average size TRSA laundry plant, a facility focused on healthcare business would process 40,000 pounds, hospitality, 64,000 and industrial, 19,000. These industrial plants will produce thousands and thousands of plastic products, often from recycled materials.

Plastics are a huge industry in the United States. We use a lot of plastic products on a daily basis and don?t even think about them. Some professions, such as housekeeping staff and janitors actually rely on plastics products to do their job. The high demand of plastics in our country makes the industry have the ability to employ hundreds of thousands of employees in full time positions.
